These awards recognise the ongoing contribution of senior students to the School community.
Federal MP Citizenship and Leadership Award, Distinguished Achievement Award and Merit Awards
These awards are given to students who have demonstrated citizenship and community involvement throughout their senior schooling and maintained a high level of academic achievement.
School Service Awards
This award recognises the ongoing contributions of a senior student and their consistent display of our school values: respect, responsibility and excellence.
Environmental Award
The Environmental Award is presented to a student who has dedicated themselves to improving the school and community environment.
Creative and Performing Arts Award
This award recognises outstanding academic and creative achievement, and commitment to the Creative and Performing Arts at GRC Oatley.
ANSTO Award
The Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation medal is awarded to the student who displays outstanding aptitude and interest in Science, both inside the classroom and in the community.
Vocational Student of the Year
This award recognises student excellence in a vocational field through work placement, work readiness, involvement in a vocational activity or through the development of other work, enterprise or employability skills.
Terry O’Brien Foundation Principal Award
This award is presented to a student who best displays examples of GRC Oatley values – respect, responsibility and excellence.
GRC Oatley Achievement through Adversity Awards
This award acknowledges students who have faced adversity while at school, and yet have managed to complete their HSC with courage and dignity despite personal hardship or difficulty.
Premier’s Sporting Challenge Medallion
This is awarded to a student who has consistently displayed commitment to fair play, achievement in their sporting discipline, and contribution to their school’s sporting program.
The Australian Olympic Change-Maker Award
This award recognises students who demonstrate the Olympic Spirit through sport and leadership and drive positive change in their communities.
Australian Defence Force Long Tan Award
This award recognises students who demonstrate leadership and teamwork within both the school and the broader community, and who display strong values such as doing one’s best, respect for others and mateship that are integral to Australian society.
Reuben F Scarf Award
Reuben F Scarf believed that with hard work, common sense and purpose, all goals were achievable. This award recognises and honours consistent effort and desire to improve.
Caltex Best All Rounder Award
This award recognises a Year 12 student who has excelled in the classroom, on the sports field and in his or her contribution to their community.
GRC Oatley Principal’s Award – Year 11 and Year 12
This award is given to a student at Georges River College Oatley who, during his or her time, has consistently displayed GRC’s core values, demonstrated outstanding academic achievements, acted as an exemplary ambassador for the school and made substantial contributions to the school in areas such as leadership, sport or creative arts.
GRC Oatley School Dux – Year 11 and Year 12
This traditional prize is awarded to a student who has the highest marks across all subjects within a school year. It is a Latin term meaning 'leader'.
