Uniform

At GRC Oatley, our school uniform is a symbol of pride, unity and belonging. Wearing the correct uniform helps students feel part of our school community and reflects the values we uphold. It promotes equality among students, removing the distractions of fashion trends and encouraging a focused, respectful learning environment.

By following our uniform policy, students demonstrate respect for themselves, their peers, and the wider school community.

To recognise and reward this commitment, students in Years 11 and 12 can earn bonus points towards their end-of-year activities for consistently wearing the full school uniform. Bonus points are awarded each term for maintaining correct uniform, contributing to their overall tally for participation in end-of-year events and celebrations.

Our school uniform

We value professional dress and appearance, and GRC Oatley is a uniform school. All students are expected to wear full school uniform every day, except on SRC-organised mufti days. Parents demonstrate their support for the uniform policy when they sign the Learning Agreement prior to enrolment.

In line with the Department of Education and Communities WHS policy, students must wear covered leather shoes. The correct uniform footwear at GRC Oatley is black, leather, closed shoes. Students will not be permitted to participate in practical lessons without the correct footwear and uniform.

For safety and security reasons, hoodies are not permitted at school. Any hoodies brought to school will be removed and returned only at the end of the school day. This policy is strictly enforced to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students.
