Student Recognition
At our school, student recognition celebrates the achievements, effort, and personal growth of every learner. We acknowledge excellence across academics, sports, creative pursuits, leadership, and community involvement, highlighting the diverse talents and contributions of our students. Recognition not only rewards hard work but also inspires all students to strive for their personal best, fostering a positive and supportive school culture where every success is valued.
Merit System
Our school recognises student effort, achievement, and positive contributions through a structured merit award system. Students earn points for demonstrating positive behaviours and actively engaging in school life, including:
- Consistent attendance and punctuality
- Wearing the correct school uniform
- Engagement and effort in learning
- Participation in school activities and events
- Leadership roles and responsibilities
- Involvement in wellbeing weeks, school committees, and special programs
Awards are structured as follows:
- Bronze – 400 points
- Silver – 800 points
- Gold – 1200 points
- Platinum – 1400 points and above
This system encourages consistent effort, celebrates achievements and motivates students to contribute positively to all aspects of school life.
Major awards
Prefecture
Prefecture is the highest student leadership honour at our school, recognising students who demonstrate exceptional commitment, responsibility and service to the school community.
Students become eligible to apply for Prefecture after reaching the Platinum level in the merit award system or may be invited to apply upon achieving the Gold level, reflecting consistent effort, leadership and positive engagement across academics, wellbeing and school life. Successful applicants are formally recognised at the Year 12 Graduation Ceremony, where this prestigious honour is announced.
Given our cohort size of around 400 students per year, it is impossible to select only a small number. This process ensures that all students have the opportunity to graduate as Prefects and be recognised for their contribution, provided they actively and productively engage in school life.
Students who graduate as Prefects must:
- demonstrate that they have consistently upheld the core values of the campus: respect, responsibility, and aiming for excellence.
- maintain these values, demonstrate integrity and actively contribute to fostering a positive and inclusive culture within the school community.
