Community involvement
Our school fosters strong and positive relationships with its community. We appreciate the ongoing support and contributions of our parents, carers and the broader community, which help shape our school’s priorities, culture and direction. Our school is built on strong partnerships with families, and there are many ways to get involved—whether through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by attending school events and supporting our students. Your involvement helps make our community a welcoming and supportive place for all students.
Parents participation
At Georges River College Oatley Senior Campus, we actively encourage parents and carers to participate in school life and stay connected with their young adult’s learning journey. Families are invited to attend school events, participate in information evenings, and communicate regularly with teachers through email, parent–teacher nights, or arranged meetings.
Our staff are committed to working in partnership with parents and carers to support every student’s success. When families show interest and engage with their child’s education, it has a positive impact on motivation, wellbeing, and achievement.
Parents and carers are kept informed through regular communication, including emails, text messages, newsletters, information sessions, and updates on the campus and college websites.
Parents and carers are a valued part of our school community. We offer services and support to help every family stay connected and engaged in school life.
Parents and Citizens' Associations
Our Parents and Citizens’ Association (P&C) is made up of parents and carers, teachers and community members. The P&C meets regularly to contribute to decision-making, developing policies and management plans as well as fundraising.
Our Parents and Citizens’ Association (P&C) is made up of parents and carers, teachers and community members. The P&C meets on the last Monday of every month in the Horseshoe Theatre to contribute to decision-making, developing policies and management plans as well as fundraising. All parents are invited to attend meetings and become active members. The funds donated by parents to the P&C via school fees are made available to the school to purchase school resources and upgrade the site to meet the demands and learning needs of our students.
This Association aims to:
- promote the interest of the school by bringing parents, citizens, students and teaching staff into close co-operation; and
- assist in providing facilities and equipment for the school and in promoting the recreation and wellbeing of the students at the school.
Joining the P&C a great way to meet other families, get involved and contribute to our school's future. We would love to have you on board!

Community groups

We are fortunate to have strong, supportive relationships with the NRL, St George Illawarra Dragons, 3 Bridges, Oatley RSL, Mortdale RSL, Penshurst RSL, Lions Club, NSW Police, White Ribbon Australia, Forest Rangers Football Club and numerous other local businesses and community groups.
These partnerships allow our students to access unique learning opportunities, mentorship programs, sporting activities, and community initiatives. They also help strengthen the connection between our school and the wider community, providing students with real-world experiences and role models while reinforcing the values of teamwork, citizenship and social responsibility.
Through these collaborations, our school is better able to support student development, promote community engagement and create a positive, connected learning environment that benefits everyone.
